Norwegian b. 1976

Espen is Picture Editor of VG Held, the weekend magazine of Norway's biggest daily newspaper. He has combined this with working for Medecins Sans Frontieres documenting their projects around the world while also pursuing his personal work.

In 2008 a major grant from the Freedom of Expression foundation enabled him to take a year's sabbatical to continue his long term project on refugees and displaced people around the world.

Awarded two World Press Photo and three POYi awards in 2007, he was selected as one of PDN's 30 emerging photographers in 2008.
