Akash attended the World Press Photo seminar in Dhaka for 3 years and graduated in photojournalism from the famous Pathshala institute in Dhaka. He has received numerous awards from all around the world and his work has featured in over 50 international publications.



In 2002 he became the first Bangladeshi to be selected for the Joop Swart Masterclass and in 2004 he received the Young Reporter's Award from the Scope Photo Festival in Paris. He won a World Press Photo award in 2006 and in 2007 was selected as one of PDN's 30 emerging photographers.
