24 year old Richard Nifasha, a refugee from Burundi, walks home with his son through the neighbourhood of Kensington. He was a professional footballer and played for the Burundi national team before coming to South Africa in the hope of being discovered by a South African or European team. Because of South African laws that prohibit foreign nationals from playing in local clubs unless they have work permits, he has yet to find a local team. He is currently unemployed, even though he is a qualified teacher, and spends most days cutting hair when there are extra clients at his friend's barber shop.
