Lagos, Nigeria

A boy, half hidden by the fishing nets he is repairing, works at the waterside in the Makoko slum. The increasingly polluted waters of the lagoon has meant that the local catch has almost disappeared and the markets are selling more and more mackerel imported from as far as Holland. The Makoko slum is a community, under threat from eviction, built over the polluted waters of the Lagos Lagoon.
