A bronze statue of King Leopold II of Belgium on horseback in the garden of the National Museum depot. The statue was removed from the city centre in 1997 when Laurent Kabila took power, changed the country's name from Zaire to Democratic Republic of Congo, and had all symbols of the country's Belgian colonial past removed.
