Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

A construction site in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Boleh means Can! in Malaysia Boleh is a commonly used phrase. By 2020, Malaysia aspires for its premier city the label of 'world class city'. To achieve this status, the city is going through massive changes, old buildings are being torn down and skyscrapers are springing up. Every part of town is connected by wide elevated highways, some of which are made up of three floors. The state is doing its bit by promoting public transportation but utilisation rates are low, and not all parts of the city are covered. In this rush to concrete, steel and glass green spaces are becoming scarce. Local residents are trying their best to save those that remain from the developers. So, Malaysia Boleh?!
