Miechowice Wielkie, POLAND

A car drives past a statue of Pope John Paul II. This statue was made by the villagers in 1985 during communist times and was kept in a garage for two years. Then in 1987 during the Pope's visit to Poland, they took a risk and put the monument up in a village. It has stood there ever since.
