Uummannaq, Greenland

A group of Greeland dogs drag a sledge over the ice in Uummannaq Fjord from Ikerasak to Uummannaq. Dogs are vital to people in this part of the world. They pull the sledges in winter on hunting expeditions and for general transport. With arctic ice melting due to global warming, the season for travelling with dog sledge is getting shorter every year.
