A man carries young tea plants in a nursery on the Lungla Tea Estate near Srimangal, the town in Sylhet District which acts as the hub of Bangladesh's tea industry. During the nineteenth century the British established tea estates in Assam and Sylhet soon after they discovered a variety of wild tea being brewed by local people, and this region went on to become the largest producer of tea in the world.
