In this densely populated East Jerusalem neighbourhood located right outside Jerusalem's Old City Wall, many families live in houses with pending demolition orders. This situation causes stress for many mothers and children, some of whom attend the psycho-social sessions implemented by YMCA and supported by UNICEF with funding from ECHO. It is very difficult for Palestinians to obtain building permits in East Jerusalem, and many feel they have no choice but to build without one.
