A paramilitary policeman passes the body of a man murdered at a roadblock in a small village 20km from Eldoret. Members of the Kikuyu tribe had been targeted in ethnic violence following protests against disputed election results. President Mwai Kibaki, a Kikuyu, was suspected of rigging the vote to retain power.
