Tapajos National Forest, BRAZIL

A participant, in the Amazon Jungle Marathon 2013, drinks water from a bottle attached to his running webbing. For seven days the runners cross Amazonian swamps and rivers and climb muddy hills all beneath such a dense canopy covering that barely a chink of daylight gets through. They must carry all their clothes, food and water with them and they must cope with humidity levels of around 99% and temperatures of 40c while running the 254km course.
