The courthouse has become a focal point for relatives of people who have gone missing in Libya in recent years and during the 2011 civil war. Many relatives bring photographs of their missing family members and leave them outside the courthouse.The writing reads: 'The martyr Saleh Khalifa Buheiry AlAqudi. He is one of the martyrs of the revolution of 17 February. He was martyred when one of his tyrannical officers ordered him to shoot at the rebels and he refused. So he executed him in front of the soldiers inside the directorate of security. He was martyred in 18 February 2011.'
