Tapajos National Forest, BRAZIL

A runner rests his tired, blistered and constantly wet feet during the Amazon Jungle Marathon 2013. The condition of an athlete's feet are the biggest health issue during the event. For seven days the runners cross Amazonian swamps and rivers and climb muddy hills all beneath such a dense canopy covering that barely a chink of daylight gets through. They must carry all their clothes, food and water with them and they must cope with humidity levels of around 99% and temperatures of 40c while running the 254km course.
