Dunblane, Stirling, United Kingdom

A small plaque at Dunblane Primary School recalls the 16 children and teacher killed there on 13 March 1996. The murderer was a lone gunman called Thomas Hamilton who walked into the gym and began shooting pupils and adults before turning one of his guns on himself and committing suicide. The event led to increased gun control measures. The gym was demolished and rebuilt, with the school in normal use today.
