Plymouth, MONTSERRAT

A view of abandoned buildings in the destroyed Montserrat capital of Plymouth. Plymouth, a modern day Pompeii, was buried by pyroclastic flows from the Soufriere Hills volcano following several eruptions throughout the 1990s. Since the eruption in 1995, the volcano has remained active and has destroyed most of southern Montserrat.
