A wild condor is tied to the back of a bull during the Yawar Fiesta in Coyllurqui in the Peruvian Andes on Independence Day. This celebration symbolises the clash between the indigenous people (represented by the condor) and the Spanish (represented by the bull). The condor is paraded around town, strapped on top of the bull, given alcohol, and finally set free.
