A woman sits on the edge of the King's Cross Pond. After 150 years of industrial use, the area to the north of King's Cross station is being transformed into a vibrant new city quarter. A new development is the King's Cross Pond Club which has now opened its outdoor swimming pool to the public. The 40 metre fresh water public bathing pond is the first of its kind in the UK. It is purified using submerged plants to filter the water and is surrounded by flowers and plants.
