A woman stands with her child in a ward with patients being treated during an outbreak of cholera which it is believed to be present in the Yei River and an isolated water supply. The influx of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to the area has put added pressure on local water sources and many people are still drinking the infected water. Cholera is a highly contagious and potentially fatal disease which thrives in conditions of poor hygiene and inadequate water supplies.
