A young boy looks on as Mubarak's speech is projected onto a large outdoor screen. Anti Mubarak protesters in Tahrir square anxiously watch the president's televised speech on on the night of 10/02/2011. Many expected him to announce his resignation but instead he infuriated protesters by being more defiant than ever. Although disappointed and angry, once again the crowds did not react with violence but instead vowed to protest the following day harder than ever. 25 January 2011 saw the beginning of a non-violent 18 day protest movement that eventually ended the 30-year rule of Hosni Mubarak and his National Democratic Party.
