Aaron Seyer, 30.'There was down sides to it of course. I saw some people get killed when I was in Iraq, people injured. That left me somewhat traumatised which in turn led to me abusing drugs pretty heavily when I got back. I got out of the military within about three months of coming back from Iraq so I kind of slipped through the cracks of the PTSD, mental health screenings. So I was kind of in bad shape when I got out. Which is not uncommon with all the soldiers that come back from the war these days.'This series of portraits was shot at St Anthony's shelter in San Francisco, USA, in November 2014.
