Abel, schools inspector, 71: 'I should have retired in 2001, but people don't retire any more. So I'm still working. I'm a schools inspector. The monthly salary isn't always paid. The teachers go hungry. The level of education is very low. In the old days I had a bus pass and I could read my newspaper in peace. Now I have to take the mini bus, one of these VW vans with up to 40 of us on board. I'm dressed in the only suit I own. I've been wearing it since 1987.'
