Alhaji suffered from debilitating migraines for over thirty years before finding treatment through a community volunteer. He is now the chairman of his local self-help group, and is pleased that he is able to assist others. During his illness his daughter, Memunatu, received training from BasicNeeds, an organisation working to support people with mental illness. As a result she was able to establish herself as a seamstress, enabling her to support her family while her father was unwell and was unable to provide. She now mentors and trains other young women who are facing similar challenges.
