Asmara, ERITREA

Asmara's tenpin bowling alley is one of the few remaining examples in the world of a 1950s alley. The automatic skittle reloading system has been broken for years, so instead young boys are paid to reload after each strike. Asmara is a showcase of 1930s Italian Art Deco architecture. Initially created by colonial-era Italians, the style continued to flourish in the 1960s as local architects carried on the tradition.
