Ayaan Hirsi Ali, then a member of the Dutch parliament. She was born in Somalia but sought asylum in the Netherlands, and became prominent for her views on the position of women within Islam. In 2006 she resigned as an MP and took a job at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank in the USA
