Bassou Zenouba Ngolo. She is a widow. Her husband was a journalist who was arrested and accused of being a rebel against the regime of Hissene Habre. He now works for the Chadian government and is a councillor in N'Djamena. Former president of Chad Hissene Habre, who ruled from 1982, when he overthrew the government, until 1990, when he himself was overthrown, will go on trial on 20 July 2015 before the Extraordinary African Chamber in Dakar, Senegal. He stands accused of wide ranging human rights abuses, ethnic cleansing, crimes against humanity and torture. A Commission of Enquiry of the Chadian Justice Ministry puts the number of politically motivated murders at 40,000 and those who underwent some form of torture at 200,000.
