Best friends Hanne Linaker (18), Iril Myrvang Gjorv (17) and Ane Kollen Evenmo (17), from the small town of Bardufoss in Troms in northern Norway. In July 2011, toogether with four other friends from their home town, they set out to attend an AUF (Labour Youth) political camp on the island of Utoya in Tyrifjorden. On 22 July 2011 the camp was attacked by right-wing extremist Anders Behring Breivik. He murdered 69 people on the island, most of whom were under 20 years old. Two of the seven young people from Bardufoss were killed. One of whom was Ane's older brother Gunnar. Ane was shot in her left leg. During the shooting the three friends lost contact with each. Hanne hid in the woods, Iril found protection on a cliff before swimming from the island out to sea were she was picked up by a boat. They say that after the events on Utoya their friendship has become stronger.
