Cecilie cries as she departs Annapurna Neurological Institute to go to the airport in Kathmandu, leaving behind Victoria. 19 month old Victoria (formerly named Ghane) was born with hydrocephalus and was left abandoned. Cecilie Hansen was so moved by the story of Ghane she read in a Danish newspaper that she decided to fly to Kathmandu to try to assist her and show her the love of another human being; Cecilie eventually became her legal guardian. Victoria died on November 19 2010 from heart failure. A week after Cecilie's return to Denmark she got a text message from the surgeon reading: 'Dear Cecilie. Be brave. You tried. We all tried. It was her fate. Please try to find peace.'
