Cecilie shows's Victoria what she looks like in a mirror at the Annapurna Neurological Institute in Kathmandu. 19 month old Victoria (formerly named Ghane) was born with hydrocephalus and was left abandoned. Cecilie Hansen was so moved by the story of Ghane she read in a Danish newspaper that she decided to fly to Kathmandu to try to assist her and show her the love of another human being; Cecilie eventually became her legal guardian. Day by day they are growing closer. 'I'm probably the closest thing to a mother she has now' says Cecilie, 'I simply couldn't bear that no one would care for her.' Victoria died on November 19 2010 from heart failure.
