Chess-Boxer Carl Strugnell from Swansea, Wales, warms up in the car park outside the hall before his match starts at 'Intellectual Fight Night' held at the Columbia Halle. Chess-Boxing consists of up to 11 rounds alternating between chess and boxing. The fighters can win by knockout, checkmate, or if the opponent loses on time. Carl has been active chess player all his life, but only started boxing in the last couple of years. 'I need to get an outlet for aggression and be a dominant monkey for a few minutes. After I can hopefully go back to being a nice guy again', Carl explains why is likes chess boxing.
