Chinese contractors and Angolan labourers rebuilding bridges along the Luena - Lucusse road. Infrastructure in large parts of the country was destroyed during the long years of war. As thousands of landmines are cleared along roads and bridges, the Angolan government is implementing a vast reconstruction program, much of it done by Chinese contractors, throughout the country.
