Detail of the seriously mutilated bronze sculpture The Thinker by Auguste Rodin (1840-1917). The cast had been stolen from the Singer Laren Museum before being recovered a day later. The thieves had cut through the bronze in seven places, taking off an arm and a leg. Probably they were only after the 90kg of bronze, which would be worth around 450 Euros.
