During the 1994 genocide neighbours killed Azelle Nyiraahabimana's three children and her husband in front of her. She was left for dead. Another neighbour lost his wife and children. The two married and now have three children together but don't forget their first families. Azelle says: 'The pain that I have in my head gets worse when I remember the death of my children and their father. I have remarried but the anguish remains…I am like a tree that has neither roots nor branches’.
