Harvested gums from the Boswellia tree are stored in dry caves in the mountains for up to ten days before being brought down to the village to be sold as frankincense. Frankincense, also known as olibanum, is an aromatic sap-based resin used widely in religious rites and as a perfume. Somalian Frankincense is considered to be of a very high quality.
