Tobruk, LIBYA

Heavily armed protesters gather after Friday prayers at Tobruk's central mosque shouting anti-Gaddafi slogans. They then marched heavily armed through the streets. On 17 February the country saw the beginnings of a revolution against the ruling Col Muammar Al Gaddafi. Rebels now seem to control Tobruk after a pivotal attack on the city's police station. In total between 150 and 200 civilians have been killed in violence during the uprising in this area alone.
