Hundreds of beggars arrive at the Ardh Kumbh Mela. The Ardh (Half) pilgrimage, one of the world's largest gatherings of people, occurs every six years in Allahabad (Prayag) at the confluence of two holy rivers, the Ganges and the Yamuna (Jamuna). It is believed that the two rivers are also joined by a third, mystical river, the Saraswati, which has no physical form.
