Inmates in one of the crowded 'quartiers' of Marofoto Prison (known to inmates as Marseilles).
The crowded facility holds on average 650 prisoners in an institution with a capacity for 350. It is split into eight 'quartiers' which are sub-divided into 27 rooms. The prisoners get less than one metre of space to themselves. Despite these conditions the prison authorities and international NGOs have implemented a program at the facility to try to ensure the physical and psychological well being of the prisoners.
