Iraqi Christians who came to the United States for work in the auto industry, following the Iran-Iraq war and during the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War, have a well-established community in the northern suburbs of Detroit. They are being joined by a new population of Christians who, in Iraq, are being persecuted by Islamic extremists.
