Jenny Stjernstrom is one of the few people in town who left Stockholm to move to Lulea, 900 km to the North. The city is known for its steel industry, technical university and Facebook's data centre which covers a surface area of eleven football fields. The world's first indoor shopping centre 'Shopping' was built here in 1955.
'I have always wanted to try to live here, first of all because it is so beautiful, but also because the people are much more open here than in Stockholm.' At election time she feels it's more important than ever to talk to each other and to work for human rights and gender equality. 'You should not be afraid to stand up for your opinions - whether it's to your boss, friend or stranger who might be racist, misogynist or homophobic. However inconvenient it is, we need to talk about it.'
