Just shot guillemots are kept head down in tubes after being shot to let any blood drain into the boat.
Known locally as turrs or murrs, the sea birds are hunted in Newfoundland during a seven month open season. The selling of the birds is illegal and most are hunted to provide winter meat for local families.
