Bomau Village, MALI

Kadia Keita, a local midwife, is pictured with some of the babies that she has helped to deliver at the health centre in Bomau village. Kadia has benefited from the use of the clinic's solar-powered electric lights that have helped her to safely deliver babies at night. She has delivered over 60 babies this year and says that 'light equals life.' The solar panels were installed as part of a renewable energy programme sponsored by Christian Aid during an appeal to help poor communities deal with climate change.
