Sakeh Khana, North-West Frontier, PAKISTAN

Mansions built with remittances from migrants to Britain in Saleh Khana. The British Army established an important base on the summit behind the town, a strategic position now occupied by the radio masts of the Pakistani Army. It was the canteen staff the British recruited locally who were the first to go to Britain and lay the foundations for the large numbers of people from this area who now live in Britain.
