Members of a family are tested for radioactive contamination at an evacuation centre in Fukushima for families who were living in the potential contamination zone around one of the nuclear plants that leaked following the earthquake and tsunami. On 11 March 2011 a magnitude 9 earthquake struck 130 km off the coast of Northern Japan causing a massive Tsunami that swept across the coast of Northern Honshu. The earthquake and tsunami caused extensive damage and loss of life and damaged Fukushima nuclear reactor. Two of the power station's reactors sustained extensive damage after explosions at the plant.
