Migrant workers tearing the husks off of maize cobs. They are paid by the weight of corn they clean. They are fortunate if they are able to earn 50 baht (about $1 US) per day. It is estimated that well over a million Burmese migrant workers perform low paid work that Thais will no longer consider.
