Ikela, Equatoria province, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
Mpata Yeke (17) is a former child soldier whose entire family was killed by soldiers in the second Congo war. He was a fighter with the Movement for the Liberation of Congo (MLC) rebel forces. Mpata is a member of Zanga-Zanga, a local organisation set up to help child soldiers by recruiting them to work in rebuilding the community, in exchange for food and somewhere to sleep.
