Dohuk, Iraq

Na'zo, an elderly Yazidi woman, survived an ISIS attack on her village but now ahe constantly dwells on the fate of her relatives. With others, she fled from their village and walked for two hours to reach Mount Sinjar. On the journey ISIS caught many of them. They hid on the mountain for many days where conditions were dreadful. Eventually, with help from Peshmerga, they made it to Syria and reached Dohuk a few days later. Nazo (right) explained: 'For days and days we fled. Many old people died from thirst and hunger. We don't know what has happened to our families. We are told that men and children were killed and the girls kept to be slaves.'
