Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg announces an independent inquiry into the deadly attacks by Anders Behring Breivik, amid questions about the police response. The PM is flanked by the leaders of all parties including (to PM's right) the opposition leader Siv Jensen (Progress Party) and (to PM's left) Erna Solberg (Conservative Party). On 22 July 2011 there was a mass shooting on Utoya Island anda earlier, a bombing in central Oslo. 77 people died in the two attacks. A 32 year old man, Anders Behring Breivik, was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 21 years in prison (although the sentence of 'Preventative Detention' should mean he is unlikely to ever be released) for the murders.
