Agdam, Nagorno Karabakh

Once a city of around 50,000 people, the Azeri population of Agdam fled after it was captured by Armenian forces of Nagorno Karabakh in July 1993.Much of the city's infrastructure was subsequently destroyed to prevent its re-population and currently it is an abandoned ghost town, although a few hundred people still eke out a living among its ruins.
