Pepa (56) grew up in Opava, today in the Czech Republic. He is a long time resident of the Lunik IX housing complex and was from 1998 till 2002 the mayor of the local city council at Lunik IX. He speaks of the daily problems the inhabitants have to face. He is now responsible for the water supply in one of the buildings where the water has been cut off. Residents can get water from a pipe twice a day for one hour. LUNIK IX is a decrepit housing complex, populated almost entirely by Roma, on the outskirts of the city of Kosice located in Eastern Slovakia. Living conditions are appalling, many people do not have electricity, water or gas.
