Haflong, Assam, INDIA

Ronsomo Langthasa stands on the spot where her house once stood, while her son Sanjit looks on. On the 8th of May 2009, suspected Zeme Naga militants burnt down 10 of the 13 houses in the Dimasa village of Jorai, sparing the school and community centre where many families were taking shelter. Recent ethnic clashes between the Dimasa and Zeme Naga tribals have left scores of people dead and tens of thousands of people homeless after houses were set ablaze in the North Cachar Hills of Assam.
